Seeing that Elisha posted about Columbus day on her blog and since we have viking blood in us I thought I would counterattack and post about Leif Erickson day (even though I missed it, it was October 9th).
500 Years before that Italian fraud
The dragon head of single masted longboats
Lead the Norsemen to American shores
From the bitter cold of Greenland
To the plush pastures of Vineland
They came
They did not come for slaves
They did not come for riches
They did not murder
They came to find a better life
So each year when the 12th of October
Comes near
And the banks all take a day off
Remember Columbus Day is just for them
And Leif Erickson Day is for the rest of us
The dragon head of single masted longboats
Lead the Norsemen to American shores
From the bitter cold of Greenland
To the plush pastures of Vineland
They came
They did not come for slaves
They did not come for riches
They did not murder
They came to find a better life
So each year when the 12th of October
Comes near
And the banks all take a day off
Remember Columbus Day is just for them
And Leif Erickson Day is for the rest of us
Anyway, have a great rest of your day!!!!!!
Deborah
